4 Equestrian Charities to Support in 2025
Here at PolyJumps we love to share as much information as we can to make your equestrian journey as simple and easy as possible. But what you might not know about us is that we also love to support as many equestrian charities as we can!
Helping wonderful equestrian charities is a huge part of who we are and what we do. We know how much horses can cost, so we love to help in any way we can whether that’s endorsing charities within our community of customers and riders or donating PolyJumps products to help charities continue to progress and do what they do best.
Whether they’re supporting horses and ponies in need of shelter or a new start, or helping children and adults connect with horses, we have had the privilege of supporting some fantastic charities over the years. That’s why we decided to bring you something a little different…
If you’ve been on the hunt for a way to give back to the equestrian community or looking for a charity to donate to but feel overwhelmed with all the choice, we’ve cut out the hard work and made a list for you! Donating to a charity on someone else’s behalf, or sponsoring a horse, pony, or donkey can make an excellent gift. So, whatever the reason, make sure to consider these equestrian charities in your search.

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA)
Since 1969 the RDA has been forging unique relationships between horses and disabled children and adults. Through riding horses, carriage driving, or simply spending time around horses and ponies, the RDA’s innovative programmes significantly improves the health and wellbeing for over 25,000 disabled individuals each year. The RDA programmes help to build confidence, teach new skills, and connect thousands of people of all ages and abilities, overseen by the incredible group of volunteers, qualified coaches, and of course all of the superstar horses and ponies at each RDA centre.
Bryony, who suffers with cerebral palsy and other mental health conditions, has been with the RDA since she was eight and perfectly sums up the impact this charity has on so many lives… “Everybody has their own difficulties, but when you’re on a horse, you can just be you,” she says. For Bryony, riding isn’t just a pastime; “the physical aspect of working with horses and being in the moment can help people battling depression. The non-judgmental nature of horses helps rebuild trust and confidence in others again.”
There are tonnes of ways to support the RDA! Making a donation online is super simple, or there a so many options to fundraise, or build a corporate partnership. If you were looking to get a little more hands-on, why not sign up as a volunteer and see the impact the RDA has on so many lives around the country?
The RDA is a charity we’ve worked with for many years, and we love seeing how our help has benefitted so many thousands of disabled children and adults. Here’s what the RDA have to say, “We are incredibly grateful for our ongoing partnership with PolyJumps, whose generous support in offering a discount to groups on their products has provided more resources for groups to deliver their life changing sessions. Their partnership is a wonderful example of how collaboration and generosity can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.”
Hopton Rehab and Homing Centre
Hopton Rehab and Homing Centre is a rehabilitation and rehoming facility (as the name suggests) born of a shared passion for horse welfare. The HRH provides safety and security for both horses and people in difficult circumstances and provides a safe haven and rehoming solution for all horses and ponies, no matter their physical or behavioural condition.
Through hard work, dedication, and a love for the animals, HRH finds solutions for every horse that comes through their doors, whether that’s relocating them to a long term and loving home or providing a safe haven at their facility in Worcestershire.
Here’s a little something from HRH “As a small and localised charity, we rely heavily upon the goodwill of our volunteers, donors, and sponsors. PolyJumps have been very supportive and have donated jump wings and poles for us to sell to raise funds, for which we are enormously grateful.”
We are always looking for innovative ways to give back to equestrian charities, so if we aren’t donating our poles and wings for use, we love to donate some of our products to be use as fundraisers to help these charities keep doing what they do!
HRH are always open to donations, whether that’s financial or recycling old items of clothing including your horse’s old clothes! They also have the wonderful option to foster horses that come through their facility that aren’t quite ready to find a life-long loving home.
Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Redwings is the largest horse welfare charity in the UK, with a massive 1,500 horses, ponies, and donkeys living at the sanctuary and needing hands-on care every single day. For over 40 years Redwings have rescued horses and donkeys from neglect and provided them with the quality of life they deserve. With 11 sites across England and Scotland it’s a huge operation to keep afloat!
We love Redwings because of their unique Adoption Scheme, in which, for just a few pounds a month, you can sponsor a Redwings resident and follow their progress through the Sanctuary receiving regular updates. We think this would make an excellent gift for a loved one who loves horses and wants to give back to the equestrian community!
If that’s not for you, there are so many other ways support this charity. Going online to make a donation couldn’t be any easier, with the option for a one-off donation or a monthly contribution. Just select your amount and see what a difference your support can make to so many horses, ponies, and donkeys across the country.
World Horse Welfare
If you’re looking for a charity that makes a difference a little further afield, then World Horse Welfare is just the organisation. As an international charity their work extends to changing the outlook for horses far and wide. Working with horse owners, communities, and governments their mission is to eradicate horse suffering worldwide.
WHW pursues several different avenues to prevent the mistreatment of horses. Some of this includes working to protect horses in foreign countries from being over worked in poor conditions and working to stop the trafficking of horses across the world.
There are so many unique ways to support the work that WHW do. Like all charities, WHW relies on donations to continue making horses lives better across the globe. But it doesn’t stop there, you can become a WHW member and earn yourself competitive horse and rider insurance! Protecting yourself and your horse from unexpected events, vet bills, or accidents (because they are horses at the end of the day!) and at the same time support an organisation that’s promoting improved global welfare for horses. If you’ve got a horse mad little one to buy for but aren’t sure what to get them, then why not sign up to WHW’s Stable Squad, where for as little as £42 a year, each child receives so many awesome opportunities and fun-filled learning to help educate the future of the equestrian world.
So, it’s something a little different but we think it’s just as important! Your contributions, whatever their size or shape, can help wonderful charities like these continue to do their work. And if you want to get a little more hands on, why not volunteer! Here at PolyJumps, we love seeing the joy our donations bring to people such as the RDA members, and the impact we can have on the lives of so many people and horses alike.
